Eat More Frequently

It doesn't mean to start eating 5,000 calories per day to lose weight. It means eating smaller, more frequent meals will help your body burn through calories more efficiently. So if you've decided to eat 2,000 calories per day, you'd want to eat five meals that are 400 calories each for optimal calorie use.

Here's why meal frequency is important:

Your body has many built in safety precautions. We have a fear system, designed to warn us of danger and prompt us to take evasive action. There's adrenaline designed for us to engage in quick explosive movements.

But there's also our calorie intake and consumption system that our body uses often related to metabolism. If you go too long without consuming calories your body sends off a warning signal that resources are low, so it slows down calorie burning to preserve energy.

That means when you skip meals, your body burns fewer calories as a precaution which is not what you want.

You want your body to burn calories at a constant rate so you'll get rid of excess body fat. When you eat every 2-3 hours your body senses a steady flow of resources which allows it to continue burning through calories normally. So try to avoid eating massive meals, and eat smaller more frequent meals instead.

Eat More Fiber

Yes, fiber makes you go to the bathroom more often which is why it's recommended by doctors to help keep you regular. But the diet benefits from fiber dense foods are enormous.

First, fiber makes you feel full which makes it less likely for you to overeat. Another benefit is a lot of foods high in fiber don't have a lot of calories. It's a win-win. You'll eat low calorie foods that make you feel very, very full.
